Phoenix Lawyer Inducted into American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

February 4, 2010

Thomas L. Hudson, an appellate attorney, and partner at the Phoenix law firm, Osborn Maledon, P.A., was elected to be a member of the distinguished American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.

Hudson is a past chair of the State Bar Appellate Practice Section, whose practice focuses exclusively on complex civil appeals. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy as well as a law degree from the University of Arizona, where he graduated with honors.

The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.

Membership, limited to 500 members in the United States, is open only to attorneys with at least 15 years’ experience who possess a reputation of “recognized distinction as an appellate lawyer.”

The Academy holds two meetings a year, dedicated to current appellate issues. This year, the organization’s Spring Meeting will be held at the Arizona Biltmore in April.
