Griffis' attorneys are appealing a March ruling by Judge Robert Duber II of Gila County Superior Court, who ordered the e-mails be released to the public with some personal information redacted. The case stems from a request by The Arizona Republic for copies of Griffis' incoming and outgoing e-mails from October through December under the Arizona Public Records Law. Attorneys for Griffis, who retired from his county manager position in January, have argued that a portion of Griffis' e-mails were of "a personal nature," including e-mails about a personal vacation and online purchases. The case is scheduled for a 3 p.m. oral argument hearing Tuesday in Tucson. Email this articleClick to send Print this articleChoose File Print or Ctrl P or Apple P Most popular pagesToday | This Week
