Debbie is a New Mexico native and has been at the firm for her entire professional career. Debbie practices in the areas of white collar criminal defense, civil rights, professional licensure and administrative Board complaints, and general commercial litigation. For instance, Debbie recently successfully represented all pretrial detainees in a class action against the Maricopa County Jails in which the federal court ordered the Jail to improve conditions relating to medical and mental health care, safety, crowding, food and recreation. In addition, Debbie has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in False Claims Act cases.
Debbie is very active in the community. She presently serves as president of the board of Keogh Health Foundation, which assists families in accessing state-funded healthcare programs, sits on the board of Arizona Town Hall, and is a partner in Social Venture Partners of Arizona. Debbie is also very active in Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the membership organization of Arizona's criminal defense lawyers. Debbie's two daughters and their families live in Portland, Oregon.
