Anne Chapman is a member of the firm's litigation and criminal practice group. Anne's practice focuses on criminal defense and commercial litigation. Anne joined the firm after spending five years in the Federal Defenders Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, where she was a central member of the trial team for Zacarias Moussaoui. Anne has extensive experience appearing in federal court and has defended cases involving a broad range of issues including the Classified Information Procedures Act, criminal copyright and trademark allegations, and international money laundering conspiracies. Anne received her JD, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude from the University of Oregon. She has extensive speaking and teaching experience on issues related to the use of victim outreach, directing and conducting international investigations, and mitigation in capital cases. She also received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Federal Defenders in May 2006. When she's not advocating for her clients, Anne enjoys traveling to music festivals, trying her hand at difficult recipes, and reading political blogs.
