David Rosenbaum, a partner in the Phoenix law firm of Osborn Maledon, P.A., recently was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education. He will serve a three-year term.

The State Bar of Arizona created the not-for-profit Arizona Foundation in 1978, charging it with the mission of promoting access to justice for all Arizonans.

Recognized on every major national lawyer recognition list, he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing a variety of public and private companies.

Rosenbaum has been a longtime volunteer supporting legal services for the poor. In 2015, the State Bar presented him with an Award of Special Merit recognizing lawyers who have made “significant contributions to the furtherance of public understanding of the legal system, the administration of justice and confidence in the legal profession.” He was awarded the Judge Learned Hand Award for Community Service by the Arizona Chapter of American Jewish Committee and received the President’s Award by the State Bar of Arizona.

He served on and chaired the boards of Community Legal Services, the William E. Morris Institute for Justice, and the Legal Services Committee of the Arizona State Bar. He chaired an Arizona Supreme Court Task Force creating Arizona’s business court and co-chaired the Supreme Court Task Force on the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure. He is a past President of the Federal Bar Association’s Phoenix chapter and served as a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
