Osborn Maledon attorney Mary O’Grady honored with Heart of Justice Award

Mary O’Grady, an appellate attorney, and partner at the Phoenix law firm, Osborn Maledon, P.A., has been selected to receive the Heart of Justice Award from Arizona Legal Women and Youth Services (ALWAYS). The award will be presented at the annual 2016 Heart of Justice Reception sponsored by ALWAYS on Oct. 25.

January Contreras, chief executive officer and managing attorney for ALWAYS, said the organization’s board chose O’Grady to receive the award because they “believe that you have lived a professional life that seeks to promote greater justice in Arizona.”

Specifically, the award recognizes: “An individual who has demonstrated a commitment to creating greater opportunity for all Arizonans to reach their full potential.” Recipients must be attorneys or professionals who have worked “to have an impact on the legal and justice systems” and “demonstrated professionalism and shown great heart in their efforts to elevate the cause of justice.”

O’Grady’s practice focuses on appeals, civil litigation and administrative law. As a former Solicitor General for the State of Arizona, she has a unique breadth of experience with public law issues.
