Tom Curzon, co-leader of the business practice for the Phoenix law firm of Osborn Maledon, has been selected to receive the William F. McWhorter Community Service award, which recognizes an individual or organization that contributes to Arizona’s technology industry “through relentless community involvement, leadership, visibility and excellence in economic development activity.” The Governor’s Celebration of Innovation (GCOI) is the Arizona Technology Council’s (AZTC) annual awards gala in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) that honors technology leaders and innovators from across the state.

Curzon’s practice focuses on serving as outside general counsel to emerging, growth-oriented companies and on entrepreneurial transactions, including venture capital and other related areas. Tom and Bill Hardin share the responsibility for leading Osborn Maledon’s business practice.

Curzon is an active leader in Arizona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Invest Southwest, and he is a key leader in Venture Madness. He is a regular judge in the Arizona Commerce Authority’s AZ Innovation Challenge business plan competition and panelist in its Venture Ready program. He also is frequently involved in MIT Enterprise Forum and in Arizona Technology Investors’ angel investing activities.
