Administrative and Regulatory Law

Our clients increasingly need representation not only in court, but also before Arizona administrative and regulatory agencies. Osborn Maledon is particularly well-suited to provide services in this area.

We regularly represent telecommunications companies and large utility companies before the Arizona Corporation Commission in certification, rate determination, financing, and rule-making proceedings, and have actively shaped the rules and policies under which our clients operate. We also represent clients in contested adversary proceedings before the ACC, including representation of individuals and companies in the securities and financial services industries.

We have expertise in state and local procurement, and have been involved in major procurement disputes in the past several years, both at the administrative level and in subsequent court proceedings.

In addition, we regularly represent clients before other major Arizona regulatory boards and administrative agencies, as well as before similar boards and agencies in Arizona counties, cities, and towns. For instance, we represent physicians and physician assistants before the Arizona Board of Medicine. We recently obtained a temporary restraining order prohibiting the Board from summarily suspending a physician, prevailed at the administrative hearing, and obtained an award for our client's attorneys' fees and costs. We also represent various professionals before the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners and the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health.
