Mary O’Grady named to Arizona Capitol Times 2020 Women Achievers of Arizona

Mary O’Grady is among 26 women honored as a 2020 Women Achievers of Arizona by the Arizona Capitol Times, a weekly publication that focus on political and government news, particularly news from the State Capitol.

In addition, Arizona Supreme Court Justice Ann Scott Timmer, the only woman who currently sits on the state’s highest court, was named this year’s Women of the Year.

“The COVID-19 pandemic upended people’s lives, but the honorees hunker down each day to adapt, innovate and see to it that, despite the tumult, their work continues. And their work is important,” the Capitol Times said in announcing the awards. “They keep schools functioning. They ensure justice doesn’t grind to a halt during this crisis. They protect critical services, such as water and power. They champion communities, helping the most vulnerable Arizonans.

“Indeed, they excel in their professions, advancing their company, firm or community. Their engagement makes a difference in the lives of Arizonans, especially now.”

O’Grady, who leads the firm’s litigation group, focuses her practice on appeals, civil litigation, and administrative law. As a former Solicitor General for the State of Arizona, she has a unique breadth of experience with public law issues. She has been singled out for many honors, including Top 250 Women in Litigation by Benchmark Litigation.

Her areas of experience include election and campaign finance law, redistricting, State constitutional law, government contracts, state legislation, open meeting and public records laws, and school finance.
