Overview

Michael’s practice focuses on appeals, complex civil litigation, and government and regulatory matters.  Michael has authored briefs and motions in both state and federal appellate and trial courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, First, Fifth, Ninth, Eleventh, D.C., and Federal Circuits.  Michael has represented corporations, associations, tribes, and individuals facing adverse government action under many areas of constitutional, statutory, and administrative law.

Michael’s pro bono practice has focused on representing clients in appellate matters seeking criminal justice, education, and immigration reform.

Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable David F. Hamilton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
