Osborn Maledon welcomes our new summer associates

Osborn Maledon is proud to welcome seven law students to participate in the 2023 Summer Associate Program! All seven summer associates are high academic achievers who are actively engaged in their schools and communities. Our summer associates hail from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona, the University of Chicago Law School, and Yale Law School.

The goal of our Summer Program is to give each summer associate a true sense of the firm’s unique culture and what it means to be a lawyer at Osborn Maledon. We choose our summer associates based on a variety of factors including academic achievements, work and leadership experience, written and oral communication skills, and service to the community.  We are very proud to introduce this year’s class.

Andrew Biondo is concurrently pursuing his JD from the University of Chicago Law School and his Ph.D. from Stanford. He is a staffer on the Chicago Law Review and an S. K. Yee Scholar. Andrew externed for Judge Philip Simon of the Northern District of Indiana last summer and is a research and teaching assistant for Professor Martha Nussbaum. Prior to law school, Andrew studied Philosophy, Classics, & Italian at the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Kevin Garcia is a rising 2L at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he is the Chair of Youth and Development for the Chicano Latino Law Student Association. Prior to law school, Kevin earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English at ASU. Kevin graduated from college as a first-generation student and a first-generation American and is now on the path to becoming a first-generation attorney.

Esther Gold returns to OM after spending her 1L summer here in 2022. She is a rising 3L at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she is an incoming Associate Editor of the Arizona State Law Journal and Co-President of the Jewish Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Esther studied Philosophy (Morality, Politics and Law), Psychology and Political Science at ASU. Esther has externed in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office and for Justice Lopez on the Arizona Supreme Court. After law school, she will clerk for Judge Silver on the U.S. District Court of Arizona.

Jacob Gonzalez is a rising 3L at Yale Law School, where he is a NAACP Legal Defense Fund Earl Warren Scholar and Samvid Scholar. Jacob has participated in the Yale Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic, the Yale Veterans Legal Services Clinic, and the Yale Challenging Mass Incarceration Clinic. Jacob earned his undergraduate degree in Classics and Feminist Studies from Stanford University. After college, he earned his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

Clayton Kinsey returns to OM after spending his 1L summer here in 2022. He is a rising 3L at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he is the Blog Editor of the Arizona State Law Journal, the Career Development Chair of the Native American Law Students Association, a research assistant for Professor Karen Brandshaw, and is actively involved in ASU Law’s Indian Legal Program. He also externed with Judge Diane Humetewa on the United States District Court of Arizona. Prior to law school, Clayton completed his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley

Erica Litle returns to OM after spending her 1L summer here in 2022. She is a rising 3L at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. She is an active member of the Arizona Law Review, earning the roles of Writing Fellow during her 1L year, 2L Editor during her 2L year, and will be a Senior Note Editor during her 3L year. Erica is also involved in the Environmental Law Society, the Constitutional Law Society, and the reproductive rights society, “If, When, How.”

Rosie McCormack is a rising 2L at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she is involved in the Homeless Legal Assistance Project and the Women Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Rosie attended Fordham University in the Bronx, where she earned a B.A. in International Political Economy and graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2020. For two years between college and law school, she worked as an Investigative Analyst in the Conviction Integrity Program at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
